Walgreens will sell CBD creams, patches and sprays at nearly 1,500 stores in select states, the company told CNBC on Wednesday. The pharmacy chain will sell cannabis-based products in Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont, South Carolina, Illinois and Indiana. Walgreens and CVS aren't making the decision to store CBD lightly, and some stores won't offer any CBD products at all. As of this writing, Walgreens has OTC CBD available at around 1500 stores in nine different states.
The CBD-related items offered at Walgreens stores will be topical creams, patches and sprays. The products will not contain THC, according to the company. Many CBD products are sold as oils or balms, but they are also available as lotions, facial serums, pills, or as part of cocktails.
